Can someone explain how I use the densitometer please. Feel free to keep it as simple as possible.
For example, If I were to place the cursor over a prescan of a white patch, the densitometer might read:
R152 -> 244
G147 ->237
B153 ->246
I assume that this patch of white should ideally read about 245,245,245. What is the densitometer telling me? And just as important, how can I make adjustments to the RGB on the left is the same as the rgb on the right. Or, do I have it all wrong?
I have a transparency that I am trying to scan and there is a patch of very dark green that always comes out black. I cannot seem to get the green to show. Is this where the densitometer is used?
Thanks
Ken

Dear Ken,
when you read values as described you are pointing at a pixel which is not near the brightest reading of that image (as would be the case with values as high as 245).
Generally the values on the left are the actual values (without SilverFast's corrections), whereas the values on the right show the (future) output data - what you would get if you hit the scan button.
You cannot control the output by the densitometer (it is an indicator and not an optimizer). If you want to get your dark green come out right, please use the common SilverFast tools: start with the auto-correction and if this fails change the threshhold values in the SilverFast "Option" > "Auto" dialog.
