Problems scanning scan from negatives in Epson 3200

Postby rpruthee » Mon Apr 07, 2003 12:57 am

Hello there,

I have installed Silverfast SE Version 6. I want to scan my negatives
using this software from Adobe Photoshop elements2. Everytime I scan it,
it just shows the negative holder (which came with the scanner) as the
image and never scans the negative. I have tried setting the option to set to negative but still it does not work. I want to use this software for SRD
(dust removal). Right now, I am helpless and not able to move forward. Am I missing some setting here? Please help!. All of this happens in prescan mode.

Thanks,
-Ranjan

Dear Ranjan -
I like to help you - Which operation system do you use ( Mac/Win) and please describe exactly the SilverFast settings.

Ranjan:

Have you removed the top white cover from the inside of the scanner lid before scanning the slide? When it is in place, it blocks the light from the lid that shines down through the slide.

Dear Ranjan -

Yes - you are right - you have to remove the top white cover from the inside of the scanner lid before scanning the slide :o
When it is in place, it blocks the light from the lid that shines down through the slide and scanning colour slides will be not possible.

with regards

Christoph
