Hi,
I scan 4x5 negatives and now also 2 1/4x2 1/4 negatives both are B/w I use the Epson 760 flatbed scanner
I tend to stick with the "300" setting but often wonder if pushing the limits to ?? highest level will in fact yield more useful info. I also wonder if I should be using a different setting for the 2 1/4 neg
I seem to recall that at some point I would be getting more PPI but not necessarily better information.

Another related issue is understanding what I really get by making an HDR raw scan which I then convert using the silverfast hdr

Thanks for any pointers or explanations.

Dear user,

Which resolution yields the best information really depends on the individual film.
The best way is to set the slider to different values and compare the results.

kind regards,
