SilverFast SE Plus - Creating iSRD Mask

Is it possible in SilverFast SE Plus v. 8.8 to create an iSRD mask using either the polygonal or path tool around an object, say a bird, and then invert the mask so that the iSRD affect is applied to everything except the bird? If so, how does one invert the mask?

Dear Tony,

First create the initial mask.
Then click and hold the mask tool again and a pull down menu with various options will appear, including invert.
