Hi All,
This is probably user error, but I feel that I am following the right steps from the videos I have watched. I have an Epson v850 Pro and SilverFast 8 SE Plus. When I use Epson Scan my 35mm film in the film holder gets scanned and the output is the positive. My problem in general with Epson Scan is that the images end up looking soft and I have seen comments that SilverFast looks much better.
When I click Prescan in SilverFast, the holder scans correctly and I see the strips now rendered as positives. They look good! I choose the NegaFix for Fuji, Superia, 400 ISO and then click Batch Scan. I get a scan of the negative with the orange mask. I can obviously correct in PhotoShop, but every tutorial shows a positive coming back.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Dear customer,
Please check if you might have selected one of the HDR(i) RAW bit depths.
These are archive file formats which are saved unchanged for later processing in SilverFast HDR Studio.
For normal output please select 48->24 bit.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
