Hi,
we are using Microtek ScanMaker 1000XL Plus (A3-3200) with SilverFast AI Studio v8.8.0r3. Scanner is constantly out of focus if we use Microfiche Holders or if we put Microfiche on the glass. Tried with different settings and nothing helped. The original size of one Microfiche image is 1.5cm x 1cm. But even bigger ones are out of focus (4.5cm x 3cm). I read here that there should be three options for scanning Negatives. But in our case there is only Reflective - Transparency options (Wide Transparency is missing). Is there anything what we can do?
Thanking you,
Michal

Re: Microtek 1000XL Plus - out of focus
Dear Michal,
Are there any good contrast boarders in the images?
If there are certain images that allow a good focus there is a trick you could try, this requires that the films are all at the same hight.
If I remember correctly the 1000XL Plus should allow you to manually select an AF point.
You can actually place it outside the scan frame on another image. This would allow you to use an image with good focus results as a reference for images the scanner can not focus on.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
