Error in Reference!
I have marked the 4 points in the scan frame to calibrate, but got the answer. Error.....! I have found MONR2014.08.02.mrf at http://www.xrite.com/product_overview.a ... wareID=363
I use Silverfast 8.8 Epson perfection and have pushed the button IT8 Cal.
When I bought the scanner I got IT8 sheets form xrite without bars at the bottom.
Before I have successfully calibrated the Transparency picture but I hope to learn to use the calibration.

Re: IT8 Cal - Error in reference! Reflective scan
Dear customer,
Please make sure you got the correct reference file for your target.
The error means that the values measured in the target vary too much from the values in the reference file that has been loaded.
This can also happen if the target has aged too much or otherwise was damaged.
Please note that IT8 targets are very sensible and have to be stored in a dry, dark and cool place.
Especially warm temperatures and direct sunlight can destroy a target quickly.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: IT8 Cal - Error in reference! Reflective scan
I thoutht that "Error in Reference! Please adjust the scan frames as shown" did mean that I had to change the position for the scan frame. But it is placed according to the the IT8 calibration picture. I use MONR2014:08-2 and the file is named: MONR2014.08.02.mrf.
However I have used the Epson scanners own program to scan the target and here I was able to get a calibration picture - a tif-file and later an .icm-file which silverfast can recognise. It is a bit more trouble but I hope that I serves all right. I attach the result of the calibration.

Re: IT8 Cal - Error in reference! Reflective scan
Dear customer,
SilverFast unfortunately can not use .mrf reference files. We would require a .txt reference.
If you create anICC/ICM profile with another softwer you can select that in the preferences' CMS tab for the input profile.
Normally your calibration software should put the profile into the correct color management folder.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: IT8 Cal - Error in reference! Reflective scan - only . t
Thank You for the answer. It seems that I am doing the calibration the right way. My target looks exactly like the target in your explanation, but without the bar code. I got this text: "Error in Reference! Please adjust the scan frames as shown" and thought that it had something to do with the position of the target.
May be I have missed some text, but if not so I would like a text somewhere telling that SilverFast only accepts .txt-calibration files and not the text mentioned above.
I could also place this remark in new feature wishlist or - it is more like a bug.

Dear Mr Solvag,
.txt reference files are the standard for IT8 targets. That is not a bug. If a manufacturer chooses not to comply to this standard we can not change that.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
