This is a list of files where some of the pictures lost the RAW type. For which reason? And how can I reset or recover?
See attachment.

Re: RAW type lost.
Dear customer,
Your image unfortunately did not reach me.
Did you maybe open/edit the images in an external software?
Many applications can not handle these files correctly and editing them will destroy the required metadata.
If this is the case it is unlikely the data can be recovered.
Some applications are even known to edit the metadata even if the images are only opened for viewing.
Did you maybe scan some of the images in an older version?
If only the HDR(i) tag is shown but not the RAW tag it could be that these are older files.
Also make sure you did not deactivate the RAW functionality in the preferences' general tab.
If that is deactivated normal HDR(i) images will be created.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: RAW type lost.
Dear Sir,
I am sending one of the pictures that lost the RAW type via OneDrive " http://1drv.ms/1k7CY8l " . I tried to upload but it is too big.
In fact I tried to view these pictures with :
Adobe Bridge and Photoshop
DXO OpticsPro 10
ViewNX 2
I am using the last versions SilverFast Archive Suite 8 with HDR RAW set.
Best regards
Istvan Nadas

Re: RAW type lost.
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: RAW type lost.
Trying to reconstruct the whole set of pictures of RAW type, I removed the pictures without RAW type and rescanned placing the results in the same folder.( I keep a full roll of pictures in one folder.) The results of rescanned pictures became also without RAW type.
In the same parent folder in a new empty folder I tried to repeat the scan. In the new folder the full scan produced pictures without RAW type.
I started to suspect the integrity of my SilverFast installation. First I performed a software reset of both
SilverFast Ai Studio and Silverfast HDR Studio . And repeated the previous operations that produced again the same results.
To clean up SilverFast I uninstalled both SilverFast Ai Studio and Silverfast HDR Studio and cleaned up the System as much as I could, Registery and the System's folders.
And I reinstalled both SilverFast Ai Studio and Silverfast HDR Studio 8.5.0r9.
And repeated the previous operations that produced again the same results.
I started to suspect, there is something at this place of my filesystem "D:\Pictures\Scanned Invités" producing this strange behavior.
I moved my test to another place where I never lost RAW type or missed to produce pictures without RAW type, "D:\Pictures\Scanned\Testa". I repeated the previous operations at this other place, strange enough, that produced good results, pictures with RAW type.
How to avoid and why this problem?
Best regards
Isti

Re: RAW type lost.
Dear Isti,
Have you made sure you did select the 48 Bit HDR RAW output?
If you reset SilverFast the standard selection would be 48 -> 24 Bit.
Is there any software that might automatically access the images when they are saved into the folder?
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
