Dear customer,
first of all the V800 has two focus layers for transparency. The normal transparency mode is for use with the film holder. The second is the wide transparency which focuses directly at the glass plane.
When placing material directly on the glass use that second transparency mode for best sharpness. This mode however does not offer
iSRD and a slightly lower resolution.
You can use the free frame finding to create frames for the images. These can be processed the same way as if you were using a film holder.
It is important that you make sure the calibration area is left undisturbed. It is located at the beginning of the scan plane in the first two/three cm of the glass plane viewed from the hinges. The scanner comes with a black plastic guide that allows you to make sure it is not disturbed.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
