HDRi RAW with iSRD - Workflow?

Postby RBWelch » Mon May 25, 2015 2:12 am

New user with Ai Studio v. 8.5 (latest), and Nikon Super Coolscan 5000.
I want to digitize about 10,000 slides and later make adjustments in Capture 1 software. It seems logical to scan with 64 bit HDRi RAW, since this would give me the most flexibility in making adjustments later. I would also like to use iSRD to repair / remove dust and scratches.
First, is it possible to do both functions?
If so, what is the correct sequence / workflow? HDRi RAW first, then iSRD? or vice versa?
Would the file format be TIFF?
Is there any advantage to full resolution vs 1/4 resolution in the Scan Dimensions preset?
So far, I cannot get a RAW scan that also has the dust and scratches removed.

Would I be better served by another method -- Slide to auto enhance, plus an iSRD scan?

Dear customer,

the HDR(i) RAW formats are meant to be processed in our SilverFast HDR Studio software.
These formats deactivate all image altering functions including iSRD.

If you want to use iSRD please use the normal 48 Bit output.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
