transparencies scan white
I have an Epson V250 Pro, am using Silverfast Ai 6, and have scanned many transparencies and negatives successfully, but as of yesterday, every pre-scan and scan renders an all white image.

Re: transparencies scan white
Dear customer,
have you tested if the EPSON scan utility still produces a normal scan?
Does the light in the transparency unit/lid light up?
(be careful it is very bright.)
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: transparencies scan white
It does, as I scanned the slides with my WIA software to check, and the scanner worked normally.

Re: transparencies scan white
Did you test SilverFast again afterwards?
Have you scanned transparency or reflective media.
For transparencies make sure the calibration area at the start of the scan bed is not blocked.
To make sure this is not caused by a wrong setting please try resetting SilverFast through the service dialog.
If this does not help I will forward your ticket to our tech support system.

Re: transparencies scan white
I appreciate that you respond to me, but we are speaking a different language it seems. Yes, the scanner works fine other than with silverfast.
I see no mention of calibration on the pages that come up with silverfast.
I don't get a silverfast launcher. This is what I get: Sorry, I cannot seem to copy the screen shot onto this message. But the screen consists of a window entitled "Negative," one with the title of the silverfast version, i.e., 6.6.1r2b, and finally, Silverast Perfection Epson V700.
Please help me out if possible.
Carl Mautz

Re: transparencies scan white
Dear Mr Mautz,
the calibration area is located in the first 2-3 cm of the glass plane, viewed from the hinges.
No material is allowed in this area.
Also please install the latest update.
Your version of SilverFast is outdated.
Here you can find instructions on how to reset SilverFast manually without the SF_Launcher.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: transparencies scan white
Okay, I understand the "calibration area," although your terminology is new to me. Before this glitch, I have scanned many negatives and transparencies.
That my version of silver fast is out of date makes sense, so I'll see what I can do.
I appreciate your patience and consideration.
Thanks, Carl
