I use Silverfish to scan either BW or colour negatives, more ofter int's BW negs. I have two questions;
What is the optimum setting for scanning negs using a RPS7200 Reflecta scanner, BW and colour with a high res Tiff output?
Once I have my optimum settings can I save a profile for each so I can just call up the profile I need for the job I need to do?
Thanks for any help

Re: Saved profiles
Dear customer,
The optimal settings depend on the usage of your scans.
There is no one-for-all setting.
Generally you should simply test various resolutions and check which gives you the best details and low noise.
It often is not advisable to simply scan at the highest resolution because it uses all sensor cells (1cell==1 image pixel) and therefor has the highest amount of noise.
Using only one lower step puts this to two sensor cells being used for each pixel.
This already reduces noise by up to 50%.
In SilverFast Ai Studio you can save settings in the Frame menu which also can be used as custom default settings.
The SE and SE Plus do not offer this feature.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
