kodak color control patches SilverFast

Postby thepodger » Wed Mar 04, 2015 3:18 am

I need to scan an old Art collection that has a number of archive quality positives or transparencies complete with Kodak color control patches. (See attached image) The company has purchased an Epson Perfection V800 and would like to get the right software upgrade from the bundled Silverfast software. We will need the Multi-Exposure, Dust and Scratch removal, and saving in SilverFast HDR features. I would also love to have an easy way for the users to use the Kodak color control patches to ensure the colors are properly represented. I am sure this will involve using the IT8 targets. These scanned images are intended to document the colors of pieces of work as faithfully as possible.

Also, is there a way to save customized WorkflowPilot setups or any way to script this powerful software? The system we are using is Mac os 10.10 Yosemite.
I would be grateful for any advice you can offer. I plan to get the book by Mark D Segal entitled Scanning Workflows with SilverFast 8. Can anyone offer additional resources, especially for scripting?

Dear customer,

The version you require would be SilverFast Ai Studio.
It contains the functions you are asking about (Multi-Exposure, IT8 calibration).
You can check the color patches using the densitometer points.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Thank you for your response. We have purchased the upgrade to SilverFast AI, thanks for the enclosed coupon, and will be learning these features.
