Scanning glass negative slides, contrast way off.

I am scanning thousands of old glass negative slides fro the 1800's and early 1900's and some just will not scan right (most look great). The scan is essentially a white box. Moving the capture box sometimes results in a prefect image, but with part of it outside the box. I am simply out of ideas on how to fix this.

Dear customer,

according to your images the highlights and shadows have not been set.

Either adjust them in the Histogram or use the image auto adjustment (Auto CCR) to set them.

The very dark boarder will also be an issue try moving the red frame inside that for setting the highlights and shadows.
Otherwise it will provide a wrong shadow point.

You can also use the Pipette tool to set the black point (shadows) and white point (highlights).

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
