tiff files have 2 pages?

I'm using the scan pilot and running the adaptive filters.
The tiff files I make have multiple pages....why?

Dear customer,
above a certain resolution SilverFast embeds a low-resolution layer for faster opening and viewing of the file.
If you do not require this you can deactivate the feature in the SilverFast preferences' Special tab.
Simply remove the checkmark for the HiRePP feature.
