Hi everyone

I am new to Silverfast SE PLus 8 and cannot understand how to use it.

I need a simple Step by Step Guide to using the software.

I want to use it to:

Scan 35mm Film strips in Colour and in Black and White for processing in Photoshop CS6.

My scanner is the Epson Perfection v750 Pro.

If there is anyone who can help me, please make it very simple.

Sincerely,

buruandi

Dear Buruandi,

On our website you can find our documents and tutorial movies.

Here is a list of the basic steps necessary to scan a number of film images.

1.) Create a preview.

2.) Use the "find frames" option from the frame menu to create individual scan-frames for each image.

3.) Check if the frames are set up correctly. (You can zoom into an image by activating the scan-frame (red) and clicking the magnifying glass)
This is especially important for NegaFix as unexposed material inside the scan-frame can disturb the histogram.

4.) Set up the frame settings (resolution, path, NegaFix film type, name, filters, etc). Each frame has it's own settings!
4.1) You can do this individual for each frame
4.2) or you can use the "copy settings to all frames" option from the frame menu to transfer the settings from the active frame to all others.

5.) Press and hold (for about a second) the scan button and select "batch-scan". This will scan and process all frames.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
