Silverfast HDR 8 as external Editor in Apple Aperture?

I currently scan in AiStudio (v8.0.1r41) to a 64 Bit HDRi file
This file is then imported into Apple Aperture, initially for organisational purposes.
I have set 'Silverfast HRD8' as the "External Photo Editor" in Aperture so I can apply dust removal etc, in Silverfast as needed
However - when I select the 'Edit With' option in Aperture, Silverfast HDR8 opens - but the images is not passed to HDR8

Have searched high and low - but can't find reference to a solution

Am I missing something obvious here?

SilverFast is currently not optimized to work as an image editor for Aperture.
