Re: David Segal book problems on iPad
Dear customer,
There currently is an issue which causes the iOS7 iBooks app to crash when loading Mark D. Segal's eBook.
This can also happen when other apps use the iBooks engine (e.g web browsers and other PDF readers).
However, we have tested a solution for this problem that works, is easy to implement and cost-free.
The procedure is as follows:
Make sure that the book is on your computer desktop (if you require an additional download entitlement from LaserSoft Imaging to enable this, please request it via email to SilverFast Technical Support).
Then do the following:
* Please install the Adobe Reader app from the App Store.
* Open iTunes.
* Plug the iPad into the computer.
* Within iTunes, navigate to Apps> File Sharing.
* Click on Adobe Reader for iOS and drag and drop to the right-hand side of the iTunes display.
* Open Adobe Reader on the iPad, and the book file should appear.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: David Segal book problems on iPad
Hi Arne
I have attempted to follow your instructions, but without success.
First, I already have Acrobat Reader on my iPad. I attempted to download as well to the Mac, but it does not appear in the App store.
I also have the book on my desktop.
What is the connection between my desktop version of the book and the iPad? I also reinstalled the book to the iPad. When i open the book it immediately closes the ibooks app.
I tried to follow your steps but they do not make sense to what what I see on my desktop. Can Silverfast just fix the book, please?
Regards
Simon

Re: David Segal book problems on iPad
Dear Simon,
You need to upload the eBook you downloaded through iTunes.
Start iTunes and connect your iPad.
When it appears in iTunes click the iPad button and navigate to the page showing the installed apps and ipad pages.
Below that is a list of apps which can exchange files through itunes.
There select the adobe reader and drag the eBook into the file list or press the import button.
Unfortunately we can not solve this issue as neither iOS nor the eBook are our products.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: David Segal book problems on iPad
part of the problem is the instructions for the fix. for some one not familiar with iTunes and what the person who wrote the original instructions is trying to convey. he left out some steps. I will try and make this a little easier for you.
1. down load the Mark Segal pdf version of the Manual, and put a copy on your computer desktop.
2. Make sure you have installed Adobe Reader app on to your iPad directly from the iOS7 App Store.
3. Open iTunes
4. Plug the iPad into the computer.
5. within iTunes. navigate to your iPad, Then look for Apps click on that tab. then scroll down to file sharing, you should see
Adobe Reader. click on it. You will see another box to the right of the App.
6. Now Click on the Mark Segal Manual that you have on your computer desktop, and drag it into that box that is across
from Adobe Acrobat in iTunes and the manual will load into the Adobe Acrobat Reader.
7. Now open Adobe Acrobat Reader on your iPad and under documents you should see the Mark Segal Manual, click on it to
open it and it should be ready to view on your iPad.
i hope this helps, I had the same problems and was frustrated that it would not work. But I finally figured out what the gentleman was trying to say.

Re: David Segal book problems on iPad
This issue has been solved in iOS9.
In the current iOS9 iBooks app the eBook can be opened again without issues.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
