Dark Ektachrome Slide Scans

Postby Redmire » Thu Jan 23, 2014 6:12 pm

Dark scans seems to be a recurring theme. When I try to scan Ektachrome slides the pre scan faithfully replicates the slide, while the saved scanned image is very dark. I should mention I am using a Plustek 8100 scanner with Silverfast SE Plus 8 software. Using the quick scan facility on the Plustek scanner gives good results so I don't think it is a scanner issue.

What is going on?

Dear customer,

Did you remember to activate the image auto adjustment (e.g. Auto CCR) to set the highlights and shadows?

You can also do it manually in the histogram, but using the auto correction button is much easier.

kind regards,
