cant open files

I am new to silverfast. Trying to open a document in Mac finder files but most files are greyed out and I cant open them. ANy suggestions would be appreciated.

Which scanner, version of OSX and SilverFast version are you using?
OSX 10.7, 10.8 and 10.9 require SilverFast 8.
SilverFast 8 requires an Intel Mac to run.
