HDR Size problems

HDR Studio 8(r20) increases sometimes during scanning session the jpeg output file size from 213 KB to 2.2 MB.
All following new opened HDRi-pictures are then also processed to increased file sizes.
The HDRi-Source-Pictures which had been processed before to large output size do produce after restart large file size again. HDR Studio opens previously processed source pictures with the old settings even if saving the last job was denied.
After HDR Studio restart, processing the same source picture renamed or processing unused source pictures then the file sizes are back normal again.
So what is wrong? Is it a bug? It happens repeatedly. Please advice.

Dear Herbie,
Please check the file type and resolution for the individual Job entries.
The resolution is the main factor for file size.
Also make sure jpg is selected for them and not tiff.
The file size of a jpg file also depends on the image content.
Homogenous areas can be compressed better than colorful patterns.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Thanks for your quick reply.
Maybe I did not write it clear enough before. The the two scans where performed with exact the same scan settings.
But I think found now the reason of difference or bug.
If a 600 dpi JPEG scan with locked dpi slider(slider shows still original 2000 dpi HDRi resolution) is processed, then the scans yield a large file size(2.2 MB). Although unlocking the slider makes no change of file size to all following scans, it still produces 2.2 MB files.
Restart of HDR 8 and unlock dpi slider prior to process any scan produces scans with small jpeg files(213 KB).

Dear Herbie,
Did you check the scaling/output size in the expert settings?
It sounds as if the images get scaled.

Arne Ketelhohn.

Dear Mr. Kettelhohn
I can get a 415 KB size JPEG-file only if I open the dpi lock before I start to scan the HDRi-file to a 600 dpi JPEG size.
At the moment HDR 8 quits after 15 to 20 processed pictures on my MAC. After a restart dpi setting is locked again. If I forget to unlock and start with scanning, then 1,3 MB files are the result.
A scan processed with closed dpi lock(Slider is named Out) for a 600 dpi JPEG I yields 1,3 MB size file.
If I open then the lock(Slider Name changes from Out to Ln) and scan the same HDRi for 600 dpi JPEG again then I get a 1,3 MB size file too and all of the following scans have the same large size.
In order to be able to get a small 415 KB JPEG-file again a HDR 8 program restart, unlock dpi and source file renaming is required.

Dear Herbie,
Thank you for your description.
I was able to reproduce this behavior and will send a report to our developers.
kind regards,
