Scanning Slides

I am using SE8, latest version and a Plustek 7600i scanner to copy about 4000 slides. I wish to use the scanned slides to make a slideshow video. I will be using a program called ProShow Gold to make a Blueray video for use on a 60 inch HD Tv. I will be saving the scanned slides in the TIFF format. The problem is that I am not sure at which DPI level to set for the scan. I have scanned the same slide at various DPI levels from 300 DPI to 3600 DPI with a resulting file size of 312 Kb to 48,769 KB and pixel sizes from 399 X 264 to 4788 X 3168. From reading articles on the net it seem that the DPI is only important if I want to print a picture and PPI is important for the slide show. At which DPI level should I scan to get the best results for my video slide show.
Thanks, Sam
