Epson 4990 Can't Scan entire bed

I just got Silverfast SE Plus for my Epson 4990. How do I get it to access the entire bed? I can't get it to preview more than 5.7 inches in width! I'm on a Mac running Lion.

Dear customer,
Your scanner has two transparency modes.
A smaller one which is used for higher resolution scans using the film holder.
And a full area scan which scans material on the glass plane at full width.
Most scanners also have a sensor which is slightly smaller than the glass plate.
