I've been using trial 2 of Epson's Photoshop plug-in (which enabled FireWire support under OS X) and have been wondering when SilverFast is going to follow suit. I bought the FireWire interface card several months back and have been VERY disappointed that it's been pretty much unusable (until recently) in both OS X and the Classic environment.
Is it safe to assume an update to 5.5 will be offered when FireWire support is added? Or am I going to have to shell out ANOTHER wad of cash to upgrade to 6? Please say it ain't so...

Yes, please lasersoft. We need Epson OSX firewire support as quick as possible. Even if you have to slap Epson around a little bit.

Firewire support for MAC OSX is added in our newest versions. Version 6 should allready be on our WEB site. Version 5.5 updates will be available very soon.

Unless I'm missing something, I downloaded the SilverFast 6.0/Epson demo and it still can't see my Expression 1680 via FireWire. As I mentioned before, I'm using Epson's OS X Trial 2 drivers and having no problems using it with Epson's Twain Photoshop plug-in. Is there anything else I need to install?
Thanks!

Just downloaded the newest 6.0 demo (6.0.1r07) for the Expression 1680 and it's still not seeing the scanner via Firewire under OS X 10.1.5? Is there something else from Epson I need to install other than their Trial 2 Twain drivers? Thanks for the help!

I purchased and downloaded AI 6.0.1r7 today for my Perfection 2450 Photo and I can't get it to see the scanner via FireWire either. I have also downliaded and installed the Trial 2 drivers from Epson and have no problems using Epson TWAIN.
Anyone?

The SilverFast installer failed to install two necessary files for the USB and FireWire support. We will post new versions (Demos and
Ai/SE Updates) ASAP.
