I've recently purchased Silverfast Ai V5.5.2 and was trying to perform a 48-bit scan using the Photoshop 6.0 plug-in. When I try to scan a 4x5 transparancy at 1600 dpi (268Mb), the scan begins, but it crashes and quits photoshop too. No error messages, no warnings. I have gigabytes of scratch disk space and 768Mb RAM on an WinXP machine. Everything else works fine, and a scan at 1200 dpi (150Mb) works great. I'd like some advice as to where to look to solve the problem. Thanks in advance!

Downloaded 5.5.2R23 Windows Photoshop plugin for Epson 2450. Still have the same problem. I perform a prescan, then scan RGB. The scanning dialog comes up, warms up the lamp, makes the appropriate mechanical noises, then just as the real-time display begins, everything quits including Photoshop 6.01. The scanner is on USB, and it sounds like it is still progressing through the scan normally. I tried this at higher resolutions with the same results. This situation seems like a program bug. Anyone at SilverFast got any ideas?
