When I first got my 2450 I was using the Epson twain for scanning. Then, I quickly switched to the SilverFast SE 5.5.0r07(Epson-SE) photoshop plug in as I liked the software better. However, I have consistently noticed a yellow cast on my scans from either b/w negatives (scanned as color positive and then inverted and converted to grayscale in PS) and from color transparencies (Provia 100F). On the other hand, the Epson twain seems to produce color that is close to spot on with no obvious color cast. Other than using the color wheel to correct the color cast, is there some way I can prevent it in the beginning when using SilverFast SE.
If I remember correctly, when I scan the b/w negs the image initially looks correct, but when I draw my box around the frame the image develops the yellow cast. I don't recall whether this happened with color positives.
Help would be greatly appreciated, so I can stop using the Epson twain. I seem to be getting softer and messier looking scans with the Epson twain (yet the color is better), than with SilverFast.
