I am using an Epson 1680 scanner, Epson 7800 printer, and Silverfast Ai IT8 with Windows 7. I have made the scanner profile and print profile and now want to edit the print profile. I click on the edit profile but it does not take me to the select source profile. I have tried numerous times to no avail. Would appreciate advice how I can correct this so I can edit my print profile.

Logged in as admin. Not sure, how do I find out? Sorry, I am not very computer literate.
A response would be appreciated.

The default user accounts that Win7 creates do not have full admin privileges to prevent harmful programs from running and damaging your system. Some software still expects the user to have full privileges and can fail when the user does not. If you get a popup window asking if you want the allow the program (Silverfast) to run, then the program may be expecting you to have admin privileges and the program may not work properly.
i don't know if SIlverfast is written so that it does not require elevation of privilege or not.
Software written for Win XP was usually assumed the user always had full admin privileges.
Also, some programs will fail if the privileges on the files in each directory (folder) are not set properly for the type of account ( user, admin). If installed with a user account, the software may not have the correct privileges and vice versa. i have recently experienced this with some other software. It could be that the file you are looking for or the folder it is in require admin privileges to be able to open. It could also be that it is located in a "hidden" folder and the user account does not have privilege to see it. Only LSI can tell you what the situation is. i have no direct experience using Silverfast under Win7.
You can try to run Silverfast as an admin when you start it up by right clicking on the program and selecting "run as admin" from the menu. If that solves the issue, then you know it is either an install issue or a file access rights issue.
Otherwise LSI will have to help you solve the issue.

Frank,
Thank you very much for the reply and explanation. Per your advise, I logged in as admin to no avail. It did not resolve the problem and I have requested further assistance from LSI.
Again, thank you and Happy New Year!
