Batch scanning slides

I know other people have asked this question and been told to read the manual, read other posts/answers on your forum and also to watch movie tutorials. I have done all that but none of those places actually answer this question so please could I get some helpful information.
I have an Epson V700 with the bundled Silverfast SE software. I cannot get Silverfast to do batch scanning at all, using the 12 slide holder that comes with the V700 scanner or without it. On the General tab, Scan mode drop down list the only choice I get is Normal (File). The comparison chart on your website shows that SE has batch scan capabilities.
Thank-you

Dear baco,

As a matter of fact SilverFast SE does have batch scan capabilities (see screenshot).

You should also have this option available

This is what I am saying - I CANNOT get this option to come up.

I am attaching a screenshot showing the General tab on my computer, the only option I get on the Scan mode list is Normal (file). I have tried with all slides selected as shown in the screenshot and without them selected. Maybe you could tell me why I am not able to get Batch as an option for Scan mode.

Have you notice the version I am using vs. the version you are using?

Perhaps if you update SilverFast to the latest version, you will have that option available.

Cheers

Thankyou, that worked.

As we only bought the scanner and bundled software about 3 weeks ago I would not have thought I would have to update the software before it would be capable of performing "batch mode" scanning.

There are posts on this forum from 2008 asking my exact same question with responses from you assuring them it should work. I would like to say that I find some of your responses to questions not very helpful - you often just say "well it works for me/us so it should work for you" without trying to give any explanation at all.

Anyhow, thank-you

I can only say, the mind is treacherous, perhaps we failed to see something obvious, perhaps that person did not have the right version. But surely there has not been any bad intention on other kind of answer.

Cheers

This has to be the single most useless advice you ever get from anyone. "It _should_ work..."

yes of course it _should_ work - that's why I bought it!
