Hello,
I tried the 32 + 64 Vista-Versions of Silverfast AI ( SFde-6.6.1r4a(Epson)) on my Win7-64. Only Prescan works. Then I tried the older Vista-32-Version SFde-6.6.0r6(Epson)(Standalone) on Win7-64. Prescan and Scan works!
What about next versions of Silverfast for Epson Perfection 3200 Photo-scanner? Will be there Win7 support (again)?

In this case support does not depend exclusively from SilverFast but also from the scanner driver. Epson does not have a driver for your scanner for windows 7 64 bits.
It means your scanner is not compatible with this operating system. Hence the problems you are having.
If Epson releases a compatible driver for your scanner and operating system, we might be able to provide a compatible version of SilverFast too.

In this case you might want to consider making a partition and installing a compatible operating system. Please check Epson's website for compatible drivers.

After failing to obtain a satisfactory installation in Windows 7 64 bit I tried to install the driver from Epson using the XP compatibility mode. It did not work for scanning films and slides. In a generic way I can scan documents and photos but that is about all. The silver fast will install and seems to work as well, just without the film capability built into the scanner.

Have you tried using the driver for windows XP in XP mode? Perhaps you can obtain better results.

Just upgrade bundled Silverfast 6SE to the 6.6 at my Perfection 3200 scanner at 34€. I have download the win 7 / 64bit available til Perfection 3200 Photo. Now I learn that the scanner not at all have any Win7 driver.
I have unsucessful tried to install drivers from XP (Do Epson only have XP/32 bit drivers?) , but system reject install with prompt that the program is not supported in Win7. I have also turned the unzipped setup.exe progam to win xp compatibility. No success.
Any advice other tan by a new scanner ?

wow, this is a quite interesting fact and as you probably suspected the older version did not "know" W7-64 and the fact that it runs fine is merely a side effect

When we have the time to look at the W7-64 Problem for the 3200 this will probably help to speed up the work !

We can not exactly know when we have the time to do so as there are some projects to solve with higher priority before !

Is version 6.6.0r6 available to download anywhere? Unfortunately I have deleted my older versions and would like my epson 3200 working with win7 (64), without having to use VirtualBox.

the Epson Perfection 3200 Photo is now Supported with Window 7 64 Bit, please ensure that you use the latest version of SilverFast from our wbesite.

On my win7(64) version 6.6.1r5 prescan works, then a delay of around 20 seconds before any key input works.
A full size scan works if initiated soon after, otherwise I get the popup error - "An error occurred at the start of the scanning process. Cannot select scan source (reflective, transparency unit, ADF)." This happens under both transparency and reflective modes.
The inbuilt "Windows Fax and Scan" functions correctly.
Has this version been tested fully with win7(64) to check all functions?

we are aware of some issues with the 3200 on Windows 7 64Bit and development is working on it.

Does the program actually work for anyone with a Epson 3200 using Windows 7 64 bit?
If not I suggest it be removed from the list of scanners being Windows 7 64 bit compatible.

Our programmers are working on a glitch which is preventing SilverFast from properly working with Win 64 bits operating systems. Hopefully this problem will soon be solved and a solution be available with the next releases.

the problem has been fixed and the fix will be included in the next release of SilverFast 6.6.1r6.
This version will be released in a couple of weeks but currently we can not state a specific date.
