Dear Steve,
we will get our V600 later this month and as soon as we got it we will begin evaluating if and when we will support it. We will update our supported Scanners list as soon as this Scanner is supported

OK - we are not off to a good start here. The Epson V600 has been reviewed extensively on various sites and was generally favorably reviewed for hitting a price performance point not previously offered.
1. I have one bought from Amazon.
2. I have no ties to epson or any other hardware or software manufacturer. - No ax to grind.
So your somewhat haughty reply ' if and when' , strikes a sour note with me. Perhaps some realistic expectations would have been proper here. Something like this - "The Epson v600 appears to offer a range of features which would appeal to users of silverfast products. Scanner evaluation and software driver production typically take TBD months to TBD months. " Note that statement of the time element would be very important to me. The V600 scanner was bought with some specific projects in mind for which the v600 seemed well suited. I am sure I'm not alone here. I want to get going with those projects and do not anticipate re-visiting them simply because you get around to sometime releasing software which supports the v600
Note that your competition already has a driver available.

Dear ancieniceman,
When my colleague wrote:
It is because of the previous statement:
It means, without the scanner, we can not tell for sure if the scanner will be supported or "when", since we haven't even tested the scanner. We did not even know which problems might arise, and in case of any, which changes might have to be done in the software.
In other words my colleague was being realistic.
In the meantime we got the scanner and tested. The scanner will be supported by the end of this week or latest mid-next week.
Cheers

Re: Support for just released Perfection V600 Photo
Thanks for the reply. The time frame mentioned for v600 support works well for me. I fully understand your need to properly evaluate new products and that it takes some finite amount of time.
Silverfast lives and breathes scanners as do many users for whom a scanner is an essential element of their work. However there are likely many users for whom the scanner purchase is largely justified as one time tool, in my case conversion of 35mm slides to digital format. Once the scanner was purchased,, I wanted to get on with the task. Showing my wife what a new piece of photographic equipment can do(soon after purchase) is part of enlisting her support for my hobby.

Dear Ancientman,
And we are the most interested in supporting as many scanners as possible as well as having as many users as possible.
I hope you get the needed support from your wife!
Cheers
