Using SilverFast Ai Studio Version 6.6.0r6 with an Epson V700 Photo. I need to scan lots of prints for a graduation slide show. The Find Frames seems to be broken. It is putting lots of small frames on each of the 4x6 prints. I have deleted the frames and tried autoframe again. It seems to repeat. Any ideas what I may be doing wrong?
Thanks,
-Vernon

Re: V700 AutoFrame on Prints
Dear Vernon,
we do not have templates for 4x6 prints and I didn't check this situation myself.
Generally speaking, AutoFrame needs a uniform background.
As AutoFrame will generate different frames depending on your prints,
and you want the scans for your slide show, it is maybe a good idea that you draw
some appropriate scan frames on your preview manually which all have the same
size and settings (a frame can be copied by Alt-Click-Click) and then scan
the prints using this custom template.
Best regards
Martin

Re: V700 AutoFrame on Prints
Martin,
I am not sure that we are talking about the same thing. To clarify, what I am talking about is "Find Image Frames". Sometimes Silverfast will find the edges of the picutres. But a lot of the time it does not. It will put multiple small frames in various degrees of orientation on the scanned preview. It does not seem to matter how large a white space I leave between the pictures.
Any suggestions on how to proceed?
Thanks,
-Vernon

Re: V700 AutoFrame on Prints
Dear Vernon,
sorry if the Find Frame algorithm in your case detects "images inside images".
This may occur depending on the edges and lines present in the images to scan,
especially as Find Frame in your case does not know which images size to search.
If this is the case, and if your prints are of standard size, then I would suggest
that you draw a set of scan frames manually (lets say for 4 prints at a time)
and let them scan in batch mode, filling the flat bed with your prints as you
have drawn the scan frames.
Best regards
