Scan frame is playing up

Hi

This is rather strange behaviour that I am experiencing:
When I scan two strips of 120 negs with my Epson V750 (having either 7 or 8 frames all in all), one of these frames resists being selected. With the others all I need to do is click inside the frame and the marquee is active/animated, but one of them I can click sometimes as long and wherever I like, only when I rotate the prescan window will it become activated. Baffling alright.
I must admit that I am trying to get my head round Silverfast and getting some decent settings together is work enough, so I could do without some extra spanners thrown in the works, but of course I have been trying a number of settings in the Options dialogue and maybe made a mistake there.
I am using SF as standalone.

Rainer

Dear Rainer,

have you tried deleting the frames and creating new ones?
In the Ai you can previously save your frame settings so you only need to recall them when the frame is created anew.
If this does not solve your problem you can also try deleting the preferences or contact us by our support assitant for further help.

kind regards

Hi Arne

Thanks for your reply.

This was the first thing I tried. No change.

Please explain the saving the frames comment. I do not save the settings, they seem to stay automatically in SF.

Resetting the preferences seems a bit like whistling in the dark, no clue what is causing the problem, so do sth to feel better.

As I wrote before, when I rotate the preview view, the lame frame becomes activatable again. I will continue playing around a bit and get back to you.

One other observation: the lame frame always appears in the same position.

How do I contact you via your support assistant? Did I miss sth here on the site?

Regards

In SilverFast Ai you can save sets of settings for further use.
This is located in the frame tab and can be used to quickly recall resolution, imagetype, etc. settings.

Because SilverFast has so many settings the preference file is almost always accessed.
If SilverFast previously has been disturbed or not closed correctly this might have been damaged.
