OK. I made a profile using a standard IT8-chart.
However, I used a "positive" IT8 transparency - and when I now select to scan a negative the profile is "greyed out" in the options. Is this because:
1) you only make a "positive" profile and then SF uses it also assigned for scanning negatives (but why can I not change the profile then)?
2) I got the wrong kind of IT8 chart and have look for another type to scan in a "negative" profile too (have not seen any "negative" IT8 charts)?
3) SF does not work with scanner profiles for negatives because of the special film negative feature?
(I have commented on the prohibitive shipping price - 67 Euro - of your special bar-coded SF-calibration chart elsewhere)

Dear maiaibing,
you are right with (3), in negative mode tcanner AND film characteristics together are compensated for with the negafix curves.
IT8 Calibration is of no big use for negatives.
best regards,
Nils Heidorn
