Digital ICE problem with high dpi scans on Epson V700

Postby ChristianC » Wed Dec 03, 2008 2:57 am

I am finding corruption in files scanned - reflective - with Digital ICE on 'standard' or 'fine' at 1200dpi or above (but not below).
I've attached here an example of what I am talking about and have tested it a number of times with the same basic result.
Can you use ICE for high(er) dpi reflective scanning? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I am using SilverFast SE v6.5.0r4e scanning on an Epson V700 with an Intel Mac.

With thanks,
Christian

Dear ChristianC

ICE is an infrared technology developed to work with transparencies, it does not make any sense to use ICE with Reflective material because the infrared can not get through reflective material.

Please make sure you deactivate ICE while making reflectie scans.

Thanks for your interest
