This problem involves trying to scan color negatives .
First my specs:
Imac
OS 8.6
Photoshop Elements +/or Photoshop 6.0
Epson 2450 scanner USB.
Reflective scans are great, this is a problem only with transparency(color negatives) scans.
Now my troubles:
Version SF E-5.5.0r07(Epson-SE) which came bundled with the scanner would provide beautiful pre-scans & previews but scanning into Photoshop I got horizontal white lines in 1-4 places across the photo & those lines varied in thickness & also where they showed up each time I did a final scan. I searched for answers on your website & found an update which I downloaded...SFE-5.5.1r03 (Epson-SE). With the old version removed & the new version installed, the first scan into Photoshop looked great. The second scan & every one after that have been purple. Again, the pre-scan looks good but it is purple as it is scanning & opens up purple in Photoshop.
Note: The white lines were only visible in the finished scan. The purple can be seen during the progress bar as well as in the finished scan opened in Photoshop. As a further test I downloaded the AI demo & it works beautifully.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
