Batch Scanning Slides Epson V700

Postby mcarpent » Mon Jul 14, 2008 7:44 pm

I have version Silverfast 6SE and want to scan 12 slides in the carrier at a time - what version of Silverfast do I need to have?

Dear mcarpent,
if you upgrade to the SE Plus Version you have ( amongst other features ) 2 new features that help you in your task:

-1- There is a frame find tool to automatically search for slides.
-2- You can select "batch Mode" which will scan all opened / found frames in a row without user interaction.

I hope that helped,

It might be helpful for you to watch the Flash video by Vincent Oliver about batch scanning slides with SilverFast AI on photo-i. The address for the video is http://www.photo-i.co.uk/scanning/batch.html

I too have version 6.5 SE.
I watched the video, he has 6.5 ai Studio
- Do I need 'ai' in order to 'save' the scanner settings?
- Do I need 'ai Studio' to save the scanner settings?

- I downloaded/installed the 'ai' version; it doesn't seem to save any of my settings (dpi settings; the 12 individual frames); I haven't been able to download the 'studio' version for some reason. (it appears to download, install - but doesn't show up in the SF launcher

Take a look at the following link for batch scanning information with SE.

Thanks, but the link doesn't answer the question about saving the scanner settings (I believe its the 'frame' settings).

I understand you can batch scan (example of 12 images at one time); but If I need to re-create the 12 individual masks each time I scan - that will be too much work (I have a 200 slide job now; and another 500 slide job waiting...)

I may have to just buy the upgrade to know for sure...

9 Days later - my 'post' finally got approved - but I've already 'fixed' it - I purchased the upgrade version of ai.
(This post being submitted on 12 Sep) - hopefully it won't take another week + to have this post 'approved'

I also completed my scan of 250+ slides.

SilverFast 6.6 ai is Certainly worth the $. (despite the S L O W forum support!)

Glad to hear you got your project done!

I don't understand what you mean with these comments though.
