Can anyone tell me the difference between multiple forms of "Auto Sch?rfe" (Sharpness) and USM in Silverfast SE fpr Epson V700?

The main difference between unsharp mask and auto-sharpening is that with USM you set the amount, radius and threshold for the filter manually. Auto-sharpening does that for you by analyzing the image and determining the areas of contour and fill where different parameters can be applied.
However, if you're importing your scans into any image manipulation program, it would be wiser to apply sharpening to unsharpened scan in your software. In this case you've got the option to undo any editing if you've got an original. If you apply sharpness during scanning there's no way back - you will have to rescan.
