Perfection 4490 photo trouble

Postby gena » Wed Sep 12, 2007 4:05 pm

I have downloaded SF for epson 4490. Install it. When try to run SF it stops and disappears when the initialization message "searching devices" is in start SF window.

After such unsuccessful run even native EPSON scan soft can not start scanner.

Is there are any way to make SF works?

System: WindowsXP sp2, Perfection 4490, Intel Core 2 duo E6550, Gigabyte motherboard.

Hello gena,

Do you have a multi-funtion printer (print, copy, fax) attached to your computer?

Hi Gena,

Have you tried disconnecting the web camera to see if it has any impact? The fact that Epson scan won't work either leads me to believe there is a deeper problem. Try downloading and installing the latest driver from Epson's web site.

Gene,

Apparently there is a conflict because both imaging devices are USB connected. I was going to suggest connecting your scanner via fire-wire, but I see the 4490 only uses USB. :(
