x64
http://esupport.epson-europe.com/Produc ... U003D&tc=6
I planed to migrate to Vista.
I read this page

but nothing about Epson EXpression 10000 XL PRO
When will it be available.
Thanks for your reply.

Dear lpc,
YOur scanner is not on the vista list because we haven't the time / chance testing it.
We will expand this list eventually, this does not mean that your scanner is not working, it just means we cannot guarantee it right now !
So please just give it a try and let us know your experience, othewise please fill out a form on our website requesting for a vista compatibility test wich will put more priority on your scanner.
Greetings,
Nils

I am another Epson 10000XL user who upgraded to Silverfast 6.5 only to find out that it would not work on Microsoft Vista Ultimate 64 bit. Please build a fire under the people to do the compatibility testing. Keep in mind that Epson 10000XL scanners cost several hundred dollars extra to have Silverfast inlcuded. These are professional scanners that do not come cheap.
I have been a Silverfast user since 1997 with some of the older Nikon film scanners. It really would be nice to be able to use Silverfast on my new Dell 690 Vista workstation. Now I am limited to using the Epson software or firing up an older computer with Windows XP.

This is a followup to my post above.
I just downloaded and installed Version 6.5.r1a for the Epson 10000. When I do a prescan my 10000XL hangs up and never completes or ever starts the prescan. I have to close the program with Vista Task Manager and then restart the computer in Vista. The Epson Scan, version 3.04A works fine. Of course that is a far cry from Silverfast.
This means that 6.5.r1a for the Epson 10000XL needs to go back to the software people for correction. I should point out that the initial Silverfast 6.5.0 had EXACTLY the same problem. Even down to the warning that this version was probably NOT compatible with VISTA!

It is now late October 2008. Did anyone ever complete the compatibility tests you started last year? I am still waiting to use Silverfast on Vista 64 bit! Is there any reason for the delay? Like can't your software engineers figure out how to do it? Most of the software companies have long interduced Vista 64 versions.

Dear all,
i am posting this to some threads so please excuse the "generic" wording :-)
Just recently we got the official promise of support from EPSON to help us in getting the recent EPSON Scanners to work with Vista64.
Honestly we did not push this too hard as demand for Vist64 was'nt that great before but as we learned from these forums its growing !
So YES, we are now actively in the process of solving this Problem.
Please have some more patience as there will be quite a lot of back & forth with EPSON to overcome several obstacles but i am optimistic that we will get to work at least the latest models ( VXXX Series ) !
best regards,
Nils Heidorn, R & D
P.S. for the Expression 10000 XL things will be a bit tougher than for the VXXX Series, but lets see !
