After Mac OS update Epson 2450 freezing system

On an Intel Mac running OS 10.4.9, I had been successfully scanning from my Epson 2450 connected by Firewire into Photoshop CS3 using Silverfast v6.5.Or6, which I installed on June 16th. After updating the Mac OS to 10.4.10 and then 10.4.10.1, I have had no problem with my printers or other peripherals. But, attempting to scan, after scan is complete both Photoshop and the system freeze. I am unable to force quit Photoshop and have had to do a hard restart of the Mac. I disconnected the firewire cable from the scanner and used a new USB cable, and experienced the same behavior. This (the system freeze )had happened on the Intel Mac with OS 10.4.9 prior to updating to the v6.5.0r6, and now is recurring. I hope there is a fix for this. Thank you.

Reinstall apparently fixed issue

I have un- and re-installed Silverfast and that appears to have fixed the issue, at least with a connection by USB. Will try Firewire cable again also.

Dear Felix,
glad you could fix it that way, but nevertheless i would strongly advise you to download the latest Version ( if you wait some more hours, version 651r1 will be available ).

Greetings,

Thank you for the information about the coming update, Nils.

Is there a way to subscribe to alerts about incremental updates? I do receive email news from Lasersoft about major product introductions and updates, but not about these technical changes to existing versions.

Dear Felix,
you can see the "version history" on our website.
I will spare you the search and post a link here:
