Epson's shameful marketing strategy.

I bought this V750 "Pro" scanner thinking that for the hundreds of dollars more than the V700 it would be bundled with all the software necessary for optimum performance. But NOOOOooooooo. It seems that it is a mish mash of mismatched pieces. Why the heck would Epson supply Silverfast scanning software and not the "optional" IT8 color calibration software but Monaco EZcolor instead?

It just doesn't make sense unless..... unless it is a marketing ploy to have us buy the IT8 out of sheer frustration OR the Monaco OPTIX!

That's pretty slick of you Epson. Having customers pay extra to become frustrated. If I had to the purchase to make over, I would make a different one.

Dear Stewart

instead of using bold typeface, doing a search on the forum prior posting will help:

I found that post and four others before I posted.

Why is the information posted here for everyone to use instead of having each person with a problem write for the same assistance. It seems to me that if Silverfast posted it here for us to find, that would solve many problems and reduce the number of initial querys. Is it some sort of secret provided on a need to know basis?

I like bold face type.
