I would too, and already posted the idea in the Wish List Forum.

The version of Epson Scan 2.68a with this feature.

Helpful Corn,
I heard back from LaserSoft and they let me know to keep an eye on the version history as they intend to implement this in the near future.
By the way there is an update (version 6.4.3r6), but the revision history for this version is not posted yet. I won't be able to do any scanning until Wednesday, so I can't tell you if they added it to this version yet.

Thanks; I've downloaded it also, but I'm in the same boat... won't be to do any scanning until this weekend...

Well,
I was able to squeeze in a scan tonight and this update does not include the function yet.

Dear all,
for the Perfection 4990 there are now two different ICE levels selectable for reflective scans. This feature will be included in the upcoming release 6.4.3r7.
Best regards
Ralf

Helpful Corn,
I noticed the 6.4.3r6 version seems to have solved the zoom tool problem.
