How can I use SilverFast with Epson Stylus Photo RX510?
Can't find it on "Epson products supported by SilverFast".
Please help!
TIA!

Dear arayclie
thank you very much indeed for your interest in our software products.
Unfortunately there is no version of SilverFast available for that scanner right now.
SilverFast is being developed specifically for any scanner in order to make the best possible use of your scanning hardware.
I suggest you check the "supported scanners" list (under "Support") on our website from time to time to learn if a SilverFast version for this scanner has become available.
Please note that the SilverFast versions for similar models from the same manufacturer cannot be expected to work with the scanner you are interested in.

Dear LSI_Noack,
Thanks for your reply!
It's a pity that no version of SilverFast is available for RX510.
I checked so many times on "supported scanners" list, but got disappointed everytime.
RX510 is a 5-in-1 beauty which combines functions of printer, card reader, copier, and scanner etc. I'd like to use it to scan pictures and films. I hear good reviews on SilverFast products. That's why I like to try SilverFast to see if I can get better result. Hope SilverFast can produce a version to work with it soon.
Anyway, Thanks again!

Dear arayclie
actually, you might help us to develop support for this model.
Please download the
demo version for the
Epson 4870 and start it.
It won't find your RX510, but generate an SF_Logfile - a starting point for us.
Please send us the SF_Logfile via copy-pasting its contents and the problem report form:
https://www.silverfast.com/problemreport/en.html
along with copying the URL to this imaging forum topic.
On a Mac OS X PC you will find the SF_Logfile in /Users/(your username)/Library/Preferences/LaserSoft Imaging.
On a Windows 2000 or XP system the SF_Logfile is placed within /Documents and Settings/(your username)/Application Data/LaserSoft Imaging.
If you haven't yet changed the standard setting of the Windows Explorer you won't see any folder "Application Data". You then want to open the folder options dialogue (from "Extras" the menu) and go to the "View" tab. There you can enable the Explorer to show you hidden and system files and folders as well as displaying the contents of system folders.
On older operating systems like Windows 98/ME or Mac OS 9 you will most probably find the SF_Logfile within the the program folder of Adobe Photoshop /Plugins/Import-Export/(SilverFast).
You could of course also you the search function of your system to find the "SF_Logfile". Please make sure that you will be shown hidden and system files. The SF_Logfile is always created anew when SilverFast is started up, even if no scanner can be found, it will be created.
Thanks in advance for your co-operation.

Dear LSI_Noack,
I installed the demo version for the Epson 4870 in Windows XP. When I ran SilverFast v6.2.1d6, it displayed SilverFast EPSON RX500, when I pressed Prescan or Scan, it came up an error window, displayed "An error occurred at the start of the scanning process. Cannot send command 'Set Window'."

Thanks for your co-operation

Dear Sonny,
Emailed to you some pictures last night.
The SilverFast Demo with 3200 test plug-in can work. But the results seemed strange. The color came out so weird.
I am not sure if I made the wrong settings. Or just because the plug-in not fully compatible with RX510. (Or because of the different film holder.)
Please help.
Thanks!
Rey
