Post-Upgrade (Panther) problem with Epson 636

I recently upgraded to Panther, and need to run my Epson Expression 636 through Photoshop 4 (until I upgrade to 8 early next year), and consequently have to run Photoshop in Classic. The scanner is connected through a SCSI (Adoptec 2906), but it's not recognized. I can't even get Twain to appear in a menu.

I've read all the previous posts I could find that related to Epson 636, and similar problems, but have not found any solution. I was informed that a Silverfast upgrade (through Lasersoft) <might> work. (The support person was not very confident about this.) I was also told that it was easier to buy a new SCSI card than to pay for the support advice....

Is there a soultion, or do I need to 1) get a new scanner; 2) get a new SCSI; 3) get an upgrade of some sort; 4) throw myself in front of the next train?

What about Apple Support? Does anyone know about an Apple/Panther upgrade that might help?

I cannot operate on a day to day basis without this scanner functioning, soon (!). HELP!

Jamey

Dear Jamey.

Are you using SilverFast in Classic environment under OSX or do you boot OS9? The Classic environment under OSX is not supported from Silverfast. There is no hardware access possible in the Classic Environment.
Please use the Silverfast Launcher SF_App (Stand alone).

Before choosing option 4) please contact me via support@silverfast.com and attach the SF_logfile.

Kind regards.
