Dear user.

Please send an emai to Theda Schmidt, as I wrote in my answer to your question in the "Installation Problems" thread.

I suggest you download and install the SF-SE rel 6 upgrade. Go to http://www.silverfast.com/highlights/en.html then click Download in the menu bar and follow to the SE 6 product. The download is SFE-6.0.2r31(Epson-SE).exe about 14MB
This solved the serial # problem for me.
Incidentally, you must use upper case for the letters in the serial number.
Also, note down exactly what you enter in the name and company fields in case you have to reinstall. You must use the same values.

Dear Epson 3200 users with a SilverFast SE bundled version.

Unfortunately there have been bundled 6.0.1 and 6.0.2 versions with some of these scanners (cf. SF_Logfile to learn what version of SilverFast you did install).

Therefore you either get a "scanner not found" eror or you cannot serialize.

Please don't hesitate to download the latest update available for free from our website.
You will experience that this solves your problem.

Please keep in mind that for serialisation of the update you need to have the original CD in the CD-ROM drive, though.

Also, please deinstall the 'faulty' CD version before installing the update. Under Mac OS (X) you simply delete the folders (if present):
/Users/(your username/Library/Preferences/LaserSoft Imaging
/Applications/Photoshop/Plugins/Import-Export/SilverFast(xxx)
/Applications/LaserSoft Imaging
and the SilverFast-Plugin file from the Import-Export folder.
Under Windows, you simply deinstall the software from the control panel and reboot.

If this all doesn't seem to work, you want to send an email to SilverFast support with the SF_Logfile attached to it: info@silverfast.com
