Problem scanning using epson124OU and Jaguar

I am using OSX10.2.4 and an epson124)U scanner.
I eventually overcame the problem of persuading Lasersoft to recognise the scanner. However the Epson 124OU has a film scanning adapter which I have been attempting to use to scan negative film. However when lasersoft prescans the light in the film adapter goes off. When the scan is finished the light comes back on again. This results in an unusable scan. If anyone knows how to deal with this problems I would be most grateful.

I have solved my problem. My mistake was in selecting "reflective" instead of "transparency"!!
