Trouble scanning photos

Hi. I have an Epson V850 Pro scanner and am using Silverfast 8 Ai Studio. The scanner works perfectly for slides and negatives but I am having issues with scanning photos. Using the Workflow Pilot, set to Photo, BW, etc. I do not see an image on prescan (get scan noise) - looks like it still thinks there is a negative being scanned. If I remove the document mat which covers the upper glass used for transparencies I see the back of the pix. So... it doesn't seem to be getting the message that it really is a pix. When I use the EpsonScan software (and with doc mat installed) I get the proper photo scan, so it must be using a wrong setting in the SilverFast software. I have tried turning the scanner on and off, restarting the SliverFast software, without avail.

Can you please help me? What am I doing wrong?

BTW... I couldn't figure out the right settings in the pro dialogue box, which is why I turned to workflow mode.

Thx

Dear user,

When using the WorkflowPilot please make sure you switch to reflective scan mode before starting the WorkflowPilot.
It sounds like you are still set to transparency.

Kind regards,
Arne
