LaserSoft Imaging

Dear community,

I'm having trouble focusing images correctly. I've tried all settings, and none at all, but no scan comes close to a standard scan with the Epson scan software, in terms of focus. I need Sivlerfast, as I'm scanning mostly images from books.
Searching the internet and also this forum didn't deliver any useful ideas, so my question goes out to.

All my scans from Silverfast seem to have a blur, even if it is only light, it's still there.
As the forum rules didn't open: No route found for "GET /rules-hints-t5340.html", I'm not aware if I'm able to upload sample scans. But I can provide whatever needed.

Dear Leo,

First of all please note that many manufacturer softwares use an build in software sharpening filter.
SilverFast does not do so by default but offers the USM tool to do so.

The automatic focus itself is done by the scanner. If you use the manual focus point make sure you select an area with a good contrast.
Otherwise try using the fully manual focus to determine the best focus value.
If you place the material directly on the glass, you normally should be able to use a fixed focus value.
