Is 6400 dpi resolution supported in Ai Studio?

It would appear that SilverFast Ai Studio does not support more than 1800 dpi optical resolution with the Epson Perfection v850 Pro scanner. The presets for resolution are for reflective targets by the look of them - there are none for 35mm film. So, I have set resolution manually, first by attemptng to enter 6400 as a custom setting, but the maximum it will take is 640. Failing that, I used the slider bar (please refer to the attached screenshot from the info Quicktime movie included with the program). The movie explains that this bar shows the resolions supported by the scanner, and that only the green portion represents optical resolution. The amber is "nominal" (whatever that is) resolutions, and the red is interpolated. 1800 dpi is the maximum resolution in the green portion.

The output scan size at 6400 dpi is about the same as with the Epson Scan softare, so either it is actuall scanning at 6400 dpi optical resolution, or it is interpoating from 1800 dpi. Can anybody shed any light on what is actually happening?

Dear customer,

SilverFast always offers the full resolution.
It obtains the possible settings directly from the driver.
But please note that the 6400ppi setting is only available in normal transparency mode.
The wide area transparency and reflective modes offer a lower resolution.
This is a technically limitation of the scanner.

Kind regards,
