Easiest way to scan old prints

Hi! I have an Epson V700 and I have several photo albums from the 50's-70's to scan. I'm very new to Silverfast and I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to remove the red/yellow cast on the prints from the late 60's/early 70's that is so common from that time frame. Is there an auto correct selection that would work in conjunction with the auto frame/auto selection functionality?

Thanks!

Dear customer,

the easiest way to remove a color cast is using the neutral Pipette.
First set the scan frame tightly around the image content.
Then execute the "Auto CCR" image auto adjustment for the basic highlights, shadows and color cast removal.
If a cast remains click on the Pipette tool at the left of the preview screen and select the neutral pipette.

Then search for a spot in the image which should show a neutral grey.
Click on that area.
SilverFast will determine the color cast in that patch and remove it.

This might at first take a few tries until you find the best spot.
You can reset the function in the Pipette tool in case you ant to try again.

In SilverFast Ai Studio you can set up to 4 such points in case you have a difficult image.
In most cases a single point is enough.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
